SIMPLIFY. I think that's what we all need to do sometimes. Simplify. As a DJ nowadays, there's too much going on, too many rules, too many social networks, too many mixes to make, too many gigs to book, too many parties to go to, too much equipment to own, too many songs to download, too much attitude, too many promoters, too many clubs, too many management companies, too many new dj's, too many old dj's...It's just too much! Same holds true for life itself! Too much work! Too much stress, Too many things to do! Too many goals to accomplish!
We need to take a moment to stop, collect ourselves, breathe, and remind ourselves that life is too short, that in order to fully be alive, we must learn how to SIMPLIFY, to strip away all of the pretense and expectations and pressure, and just simply BE. Let's take it back to the essence. Two turntables and a microphone.
A crate of records. A pack of Lucky Strikes and a bottle of Jack. A mountain sunset. A perfectly cooked omelette. The sound of skateboard wheels on the cement. Getting a letter in the mail from someone you haven't heard from in years. Using a film camera. Taking care of a puppy. You get the idea. Do it now.
